NEW HAVEN – Michael Brandon Fitzgerald, age 30, of New Haven, formerly of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2017.

Michael was born in Waterbury, June 28, 1986, the son of the late Stephen and Mary (DiPrimio) Fitzgerald. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and worked as a chef at West End Bistro in New Haven, previously at Christie’s Restaurant in New Haven and Quench Restaurant in Waterbury. In addition to his love of food, Michael was an avid sports fan and was enthusiastic about music and video games. Michael will be remembered by family and friends for his loyalty, his quick wit and the smile he put on the faces of others. Michael will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael leaves behind his brother, Eric Fitzgerald of Lehigh Acres, FL as well as, his aunts and uncles: Rosemary McMahon, Stuart Fitzgerald, Carol Zielinski, Matthew Fitzgerald, Kristen Madigan, Gary DiPrimio, in addition to his 21 loving cousins and many friends and extended family.

Funeral services for Mr. Fitzgerald will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Basilica of The Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Platt Rd. Watertown, CT. Family and friends may visit with Michael’s family on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6:00 ~ 8:00pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT.
