Obituary for Raquel Ortiz
WATERBURY - Ms. Raquel Ortiz age 38 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 6th 2017 at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the fiancée of Sandor C. Nemeth of Waterbury.
Raquel was born January 15th 1979 in Bronx, NY the daughter of Edwin Ortiz of the Bronx and Janet Melendez of Torrington. Raquel grew up in the Bronx, NY area and spent several years working as a CNA at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington and was recently attending the Dolce School of Cosmetology. She loved music and nature but her world revolved around her children who she loved and adored.
Besides her fiancé Sandor and her parents, Raquel is survived by her children Christopher Mercado, Caitlin Mercado, and Isabella Nameth all of Waterbury, her sister Janet Ortiz and other siblings Luz, Wandy, Eddie and Noel in addition to her loving cousins nieces nephews and other extended family members and friends
Funeral services for Ms. Ortiz will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:30am from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St at Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
