WATERBURY – Claudette (Devost) Aczas, age79 of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Richard A. Aczas.

Claudette was born September 14, 1937 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Ayotte) Devost. She was raised in Wolcott and spent over 33 years at the Reidville Drive Stop & Shop where she was a friendly and familiar cashier that made many friends while there. She enjoyed gardening and traveling and loved animals, especially cats.

Among her survivors are her children, Randy Aczas of Montana, Doreen Aczas of Waterbury and Melissa Lister and her husband, Jeffery of Prospect. She also leaves her grandchildren: Jessica, Kyle, and Jeffrey Lister Jr., Joshua and Sarah Aczas, and Renee Fraticelli as well as her great grandchildren Isabelle, Samuel, Remi, Natalie, Gabriel and Juniper.

Funeral services for Mrs. Aczas will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr. Waterbury, CT at 11:00 AM. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Rites of committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Claudette’s family at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
