WATERBURY - Mae Murphy, age 94 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Cheshire Regional Rehab Center after an extended illness.

Ms. Murphy was born May 12, 1924 in Hartford CT, the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Murphy. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Mae was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and worked for many years as an Executive with Prudential Insurance and loved to travel. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury and enjoyed her final years at the Village at East Farms in Waterbury. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to love and know her.

Mae was predeceased by her only sister, Ms. Helen Murphy who passed in 2013. Mae wanted to be sure to thank the staff at the Village at East Farms as well as the staff at Cheshire Regional for the loving care they shared with her in her final years.

Funeral services for Ms. Murphy will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 9:00 a,m, from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Saint Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8:00 till 9:00 a.m.. To honor Mae’s memory donations may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St Waterbury CT 06706.
