WATERBURY – Janet M. Stango, age 99 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. She was the widow of Daniel Stango

Janet was born July 28, 1918 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Peter & Carmela (Coviello) Pace. She was educated in local schools and was a lifelong resident of Waterbury. Janet worked for over 50 years in Parts Manufacturing at Timex Corporation. She was completely devoted to her family and will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church

She is survived by her brother, the Rev. Paul Pace, Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church of Waterbury, her stepson, Robert Stango of Waterbury and step daughter, Joan Mormile of Naugatuck, daughter-in-law, Diane Stango, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as several devoted nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her stepson, Daniel, brother Charles Pace, sisters; Beatrice Alfano, Lucille Crow and Nancy Stone and her nephew, Joseph Alfano. Janet’s family would like to extend a very special thanks as well as their heartfelt appreciation to Janet’s niece, Mary Ann Perri who cared for her Aunt throughout her illness as well as her caretakers; Nicole, Lisa and Jen and the Hartford Health Care @ Home Team for the love, comfort and care they shared with Janet over the years.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Stango will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT to St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
