Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

WATERBURY- Helene L. (Perrier) Saunders of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Sunday February 18th 2018 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a short illness. She was the widow of Edward T. Saunders.

Helene was born in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Louis and Adele (Magri) Perrier. She attended St Anne’s Grammar School, was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High, and was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Helene spent many years working for several area manufacturing companies, retiring from Uniroyal in Naugatuck. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, going to the movies and watching classic TV shows. What brought the greatest joy to Helene was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she often saw. Helene will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Adrienne C. Russell of Waterbury, her grandchildren Roy, Roxanne, and Marlene, and her two great grandchildren, Michael and Christopher, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She is predeceased by her brothers Joseph Perrier, Andrew Perrier, and George Perrier, and her sisters Martha Mascolo, Violet Matthews, and infant Irene Perrier.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 23nd 2018 at 11:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 13 Wolcott St Waterbury CT. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Helene’s family on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd.
