THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF VELMA LAWTON


BRUNSWICK, ME – Velma E. Lawton age 83 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on April 15th 2018 in Brunswick, Maine surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Lawton.

Mrs. Lawton was born January 19th 1935 in Lewiston Maine, the daughter of the late Clinton T. and Pauline (Pereau) Nelson. Velma was a graduate of Wilby High School and after raising her children she began working as a Unit Clerk at Waterbury Hospital for over 19 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Prospect Senior Center and enjoyed playing bingo, spending summers in Maine and traveling throughout the US and Europe. Velma will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Besides her beloved husband Kenneth of 64 years; Velma is survived by her daughters, Deborah Laliberte and her husband, Paul of Naples, FL. and Cherie Guerrera and her husband, Anthony of Brunswick, Maine. In addition she leaves her grandchildren, Michael and Jason Laliberte and Aric Rivkin.

Relatives and friends may visit with Velma’s family on Saturday morning April 21st 2018 from 10:00am until 11:30am at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, Ct 06705. A graveside services for Mrs. Lawton will be held immediately following the visitation at All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury.
